Damian Brown Born at Dudley Road Hospital in Birmingham... and still living in Birmingham as we write... Damian has forged and refined a definitive eye. Two to be precise. With his right hand and a subsequent tight grip he picked up the camera seriously in 1994, with the left putting down his collection of 35mm disposable colourful kids cameras, 110 cameras, polaroids etc and storing them in a shoe box... He began to document all around him, the world and the people within - all that he couldn't express himself with pencil and brush. A year later he emerged from the darkroom with commercial work already published, started working freelance and began to study photography at University, albeit to take advantage of the equipment available; A 35mm fully manual Minolta, his Mamiya twin lens reflex medium format camera and a trusted 59 second Ilford wet to dry black and white printer essentially his best friends for those enlightened years; before leaving with distinctions. Experienced language teacher, published musician and occasional guitar ‘player’ he continues to forge his path in his true love (artistically speaking) Photography… and welcomes you into his line of sight… Welcome…
