Birmingham Wedding Photography | Kiran + Umar!

Yes another Birmingham Wedding Photography post :O (I love my city!)

Sometimes you meet a couple who are super cool, very relaxed and completely in tune with your way of working. They’re down to earth, modern with traditional values and modest.

Over time, usually around a year leading up to the wedding day, you learn bits and pieces about them either through email or phone calls, or pre wedding photoshoots. Now every single couple has a story, every person involved has their amazing history. Most of us would brush it off and say no, I’m not special, but we all are.

Cut to the chase, this couple blew me away with their story just in the months leading up to the wedding. Talk about emotional. So this one was extra special for reasons that I won’t go into but believe me… as the Bride said to one guest at this wedding “Make the most of everything, you never know when it’s too late.” Frankly, that went straight to my heart!

I hope you can get some idea of how special these guys are from these photographs, but sometimes even amazing images can only tell the story on the day … anyway, just look at the love and emotion on their faces!

This time we were at Birmingham Register Office and Zen Metro, Birmingham… let’s go:

Time for another beautiful Birmingham Wedding Photography post! At long last…

It’s always extra special when you’ve seen somebody grow from being that cute little girl at her first day in primary school, which I also photographed back when I was actually young, and seen grow to be a fine woman and talented lady and then get married.

I love documenting weddings and it’s moments like this that make being a wedding photographer worth the countless hours behind the scenes that most people don’t realise we put in. Work that is priceless, making memories that will last forever. It sounds cheesy but it’s true. Believe me I wish I had more photographs of my family growing up, more professional photographs of major events from when I was kid.

It’s my constant goal and love to create images that will last, documenting amazing events in the best way possible.

Ok it all does sound cheesy, let’s just get on with a small selection of highlights from this recent wedding which took place in Birmingham, with the reception at Highbury Hall in Moseley. It was a fresh, cold, November wedding… with so much style well, who needs sun? (Ok, me)

Enough waffle…

Public Speaking | FutureRising Careers Inspiration Event

If you know me well, you may remember where I studied Photography… well it turns out I was hired by FutureRising to give an inspiring talk to 2nd Year Photography Students at BCU. As it happens that’s the new name for where I studied, UCE.

So there I was 9:45am, gasping for coffee after dealing with crazy Tuesday morning traffic near Birmingham’s very cool Millennium Point, meeting the top guys from Future Rising and Owen de Visser, who was also to give a talk. Another photographer came shortly afterwards and we were away!

The event was very fun, and really something I believe is vital for students at this level. Not only had the facilities improved markedly in the last twenty years but the attention to careers advice.

So I gave it my best shot! And I’ve got the bug for it now. I’m not actually a stranger to public speaking, but going back to the place (give or take the four walls changing) where I developed (groan) as a photographer, well it really was special.

Owen De Visser kindly shot these two frames while I was speaking, yes I did smile thank you very much!

Did we manage to inspire the students present?

Well only their futures will testify to that but I personally  met some excellent people in that room. The group seemed very similar to my group, maybe we are all alike… as a whole. Though I’m not sure which of the 28 was the modern day me!

Here’s a phone shot of one of the winning groups, and a pano from my iPhone.

If you’re crazy and calculated enough to hire me for your event just get in touch  below or via any social media outlet you follow me on. It’d be great to meet!

Singleton Wedding Photography | Cherise + Carl!

Yes, I haven’t blogged anything in a very long time. It’s a common theme now amongst busy professional wedding photographers and so I’m going to give you a bumper set of highlights from this wedding photography session up north near Blackpool.

The wedding took place at the beautiful Singleton Lodge Country House and the weather held up just nicely, considering it was a December wedding.

Beautiful people, beautiful surroundings and unusually…. a large alpaca farm on the grounds! I can’t deny it, I took some photos which you can see here: Alpacas at Singleton Lodge!

So without further ado and waffle (a big word for me lately on Youtube!) here are some of the highlights!

Uttoxeter Wedding Photography | Lydia + Joel!

Loved shooting this happy day not so far away from home, in Uttoxeter! Did not enjoy the three hour journey back afterwards, thanks to the A38 being shut and google maps finally failing me. Such is the life shooting weddings, you go back smiling and sometimes that smile is tired and can take a while to find it’s bed. But when you see the images… it comes back.

Yes, I find myself smiling as I go through wedding photographs, so much so that I think I should do a time-lapse of myself while I’m working on the photographs. Wait, too geeky? Okay back to the matter at hand…

The beautiful wedding of Lydia and Joel! What can you say… the attention to detail was brilliant, the fun, the speeches and the UK weather held out nicely for them. Deservedly so!

By the way.. the reception was at the JCB Lakeside Club in Rocester!

As always, I’m waffling… here are a few highlights:
