OLYMPUS XA1 REVIEW AND SAMPLES

In my hunt for cool little film cameras, I found an olympus xa1. NO, not the XA… gutted. Actually they are around but i’m after the bargain price. The forgotten camera, sitting solemnly and forlorn in a charity shop in the middle of wherever.

And that’s what I found, check out the video:

Bizarrely a year or so later I did another video (bad memory etc)

Will Pinxten - Hello,

Nice review!
Don’t you think to Use 400 ASA on this camere
Because the light strengst of the lens is not very small?

I think ,the results Will be beter,

With regards,

Will Pinxten

How To Avoid Camera Shake

Up next, a little tip how to avoid camera shake. Now frankly it may seem strange but it works. Actually I do this sometimes out on wedding shoots.

Obviously you’ll want to keep your shutter speeds high enough to avoid shake but the method below will help you to get away with lower shutter speeds, therefore potentially lower ISO and better image quality, if done right.

All you need is:

1 – Your camera, of course!

2 – A mini tripod. ( I use an ultrapod – http://amzn.to/1PHo3QB )

3- Yourself 😉

Watch the video to see what I mean:

Here’s a newer version of what I use:

Birmingham Photography Lessons | Private Photography Tuition with Dori

A while back I had the pleasure of doing a second day of lessons with Dori and we had great fun. It was relaxed, there was tea, there was pizza and a nice warm quiet corner of a pub but most importantly there was photography and fun with cameras. Of course it helps that my student is stupid cool!

I thoroughly enjoy giving private photography lessons and i’m so happy that I have students that come back repeatedly for more, some such as Dori driving 6 hours round trip!

Well, if that’s too much we can do it by Skype or FaceTime. So… any excuse, here are some photos we took while doing the lessons, they don’t particularly teach you anything about what we studied but they’re fun:
